Home Inspection

What is a professional home inspection and why do I need one?

A professional home inspection is an independent, objective, and complete examination of the condition of the visible and accessible components of a house. The purpose of having a home inspection is to:

  • gain knowledge of the condition of the property
  • understand how the numerous systems of the house work
  • identify major defects or system problems before purchasing or selling a house
  • receive maintenance information, repair recommendations
  • learn both the negative and positive aspects of the home
  • locate critical shutoff valves for water and gas that will be identified (DHI tags these valves for
    easy recognition)
  • learn to location of critical filters that will need changing

What does a home inspection evaluate?

A home inspection evaluates the major components of a home. This is to enable a potential home owner to gain knowledge of the current condition of the home and it's various systems. A standard home inspection will evaluate the:

  • Roof
  • Exterior
  • Grounds and Drainage
  • Heating and Air Conditioning Systems
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • Kitchen and Laundry
  • Bathrooms
  • Interior Rooms
  • Garage and/or Carport
